Professional Development Grant

The Office for Student Success is pleased to offer Academic Advising Professional Development Grants for the 2018-19 academic year.  The purpose of the grants is to support the growth and development of Texas A&M University staff and faculty in the field of Academic Advising.  Past Professional Development Grants have funded participation in NACADA on-line courses, travel to advising conferences and special projects.

Individuals are eligible to receive one award per academic year.  Preference will be given to individuals with the payroll title of Academic Advisor I, Academic Advisor II, Academic Advisor III, Academic Advisor IV, and Assistant Director of Advising.  Grants awarded will be based on grant application (available here) and Academic Advising payroll title, with maximum awards as follows:
  • Academic Advisor I - $200
  • Academic Advisor II - $300
  • Academic Advisor III & IV - $400
  • Assistant Director of Advising - $500
Grants will be awarded three times, according to the schedule shown below.  The Grants must be used prior to August 31, 2019.
  • Round 1 Application Deadline 5:00 p.m., Friday, September 14, 2018
    • Awarded By Wednesday, September 19, 2018
  • Round 2 Application Deadline 5:00 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2018
    • Awarded By Wednesday, December 12, 2018
  • Round 3 Application Deadline 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2019
    • Awarded By Wednesday, February 6, 2019
